Our Team
The lab is forming. We are looking for clinical researchers, computational scientists, and builders who want to shape it from the start.
Principal Investigator
Stylianos (Stelios) Serghiou, MD PhD
Assistant Professor of Epidemiology & Population Health and of Computational Medicine
Stelios Serghiou is a physician-scientist building AI-native technologies to make evidence-based, proactive, and personalized care accessible to all. He trained in medicine at the University of Edinburgh, graduating with honors, before earning a master's in Statistics and a PhD in Epidemiology and Clinical Research at Stanford, where he was a Data Science Scholar. He joined Google Health as an AI Resident, then left to become Prolaio's first employee and VP of Clinical Data Science. There, he helped build the team from the ground up and led development of an end-to-end pipeline linking wearable signals to clinical analytics and outcome prediction, used to monitor and manage patients with heart failure. He returned to Stanford to pursue a wider frontier of ideas, combining the freedom of academic inquiry with a commitment to translating science into products with real-world impact. His lab is built to explore boldly, test rigorously, and incubate ventures that enable better clinical care and research, at scale.
